Manual Message Processing (Queue Device)

Manual Message Processing (Queue Device)

Queue devices in 16.0 have a new feature called ‘Force Process Messages’. This feature allows a user to select specific messages from a paused queue and push them down the channel for processing.

There are cases where messages may be aggregated within a queue (for testing or on-boarding) and a user wishes to process a specific subset of messages. This feature allows the user to single or multi-select queue results and process them.

The queue must be paused, and the channel running. Only messages in the 'Q’ueued state can be manually processed.

To manually process messages:

  1. Query the queue containing the messages to be processed. Only messages displayed in the results pane can be manually processed, so filtering may be required.

  2. Ensure the queue is paused, and the channel is running.

  3. Select the message(s) you wish to process.

  4. Right-click on one of the selected message(s) and choose the 'Force Process Selected Message(s)' menu item.

  5. Re-query the queue to see changes to the selected message(s).
