Remote Agent Decommissioning

Remote Agent Decommissioning

In previous versions of the Integrator framework, customer off-boarding typically involved de-authorizing and deleting the remote agent record from within the Gateway UI. Customers would not always uninstall the integrator components from their machine(s), leaving them running but unable to register with the Gateway.

While having ‘orphan’ remote integrators is not a problem, it would be nice to have the ability to fully decommission and uninstall the remote agent components from the customer machine(s).

Version 16.0 will automatically decommission a remote agent when fully deleting a remote agent record from the gateway. This will uninstall the Remote Agent, Updater A, and Updater B from the remote machine, as well as remove the database.

If any of the components fail to uninstall, and are able to re-connect to the gateway, an ‘orphan’ remote agent record is created for them. This allows you to retry the decommissioning, or, to contact the customer and have them remove the software.
