Advanced Plugin Versioning

Advanced Plugin Versioning

In version 16.1, a new dialog has been added which allows you easily set multiple plugin versions on an arbitrary set of channels. For example, if you wish to set a number of plugins to a specific version for a single group (or set of tabs and/or channels), use this dialog.

Access the dialog from the existing Plugin Management dialog:

The plugin pane (left) lists all plugins in the system, filterable by name and version. You can use the mouse to select the checkbox beside each plugin, or, use the ‘check all’ icon in the column header. If you filter the list of plugins, the check all operation will only select visible plugins. Only a single version of each plugin can be selected, with the highest version number being the default.

Once you have selected the plugins you wish to deploy, use the Groups, Tabs, and Channels lists to select the channels to be updated. Each list is filterable in the header, and using the ‘check all’ icon in each header will select all visible items.

Note that all channels are displayed, regardless of whether they contain any of the plugins you have selected. When you click the Update Channels button, a summary of what will be updated is displayed (or a dialog noting no changes will be applied).

Continuing will apply the updates to each selected channel. The update status is displayed in the lower left corner of the dialog, and a message box is displayed once the operation is complete.
